The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Ghanaian coach Laryea Kingston as the Head Coach of all Uganda National Men’s Football Junior Teams for the next two years. The announcement was made today by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson.
Kingston, a holder of both the UEFA A and CAF B coaching licenses, brings extensive experience to the role and will oversee the development and performance of Uganda’s junior national teams across all age groups.
Brian Ssenyondo will continue as the head coach of the U17 team ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, scheduled for next month. Ssenyondo had previously informed FUFA that this would be his final assignment at the U17 level but expressed his willingness to be considered for roles at other national team levels.
The appointment of Kingston is part of FUFA’s strategic plan to strengthen youth football in Uganda, enhance talent development, and ensure a smooth progression of young players into the senior national team setup.
Kingston expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating that he looks forward to building competitive teams that will excel at regional and global tournaments, while also nurturing the next generation of Ugandan football stars.
