Security companies and gun dealers operating without valid licenses risk legal action, closure, and prosecution under Ugandan law.
The police have also urged members of the public and organizations seeking private security services to verify that companies are duly licensed before engaging them.
Authorities say the annual licensing process helps strengthen oversight of the security industry while supporting efforts to maintain law and order across the country.
