Hoima City — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda, Hon. Eng. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki, has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visit to Hoima City, calling it a significant boost for the region as it gears up for the January 15, 2026 elections.

In a statement issued after the engagement, Eng. Asiimwe expressed deep appreciation for the President’s “guidance, wisdom and encouragement,” noting that the visit reinvigorated community morale and reaffirmed government commitment to ongoing development efforts in the sub-region.
“It was a great honour to host the President. The people of Hoima remain inspired by his leadership and continued support,” he said.
Eng. Asiimwe urged residents to preserve peace, unity and progress as Uganda enters a critical election period. He also appealed to voters in Hoima to rally behind NRM flag bearers, saying this would help consolidate what he described as the gains achieved under the current government.

The event attracted a large turnout, with the Vice Chairperson commending locals for showing strong support.
“Hoima City is grateful, and we remain committed to working together for the region’s future,” he added.
