Proceedings at the High Court of Uganda sitting in Ggaba were on Friday (April 17, 2026) adjourned to April 20, 2026, after an afternoon downpour disrupted court operations.
The unexpected rainfall forced a temporary halt to the session, making it difficult for court officials to proceed with the scheduled hearing. By the time conditions stabilized, it was no longer feasible to continue with the day’s proceedings.
Court heard that the next witness was set to present critical evidence using CCTV footage, which required the installation and setup of specialized display screens within the courtroom. However, the interruption caused by the rain hindered the technical preparations needed to facilitate the presentation.
Given the circumstances, the presiding judge directed that the matter be adjourned to allow sufficient time for proper arrangement of the required equipment and to ensure a smooth continuation of the hearing.
Legal teams on both sides acknowledged the adjournment, noting the importance of presenting the digital evidence clearly and without disruption, as it is expected to play a significant role in the case.
Court officials also indicated that necessary measures will be put in place ahead of the next sitting to avoid further interruptions and to ensure that all technical requirements are fully met.
The case will resume on April 20, 2026, when the court is expected to proceed with the presentation of the CCTV evidence and continuation of witness testimony.
