The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson for the Western Region, Eng. Jonard Asiimwe, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development through targeted infrastructure support and direct community empowerment initiatives in Kitoba Sub-county, Hoima District.
Earlier today, Eng. Jonard supported the rehabilitation of key community roads in Kibuurwa West, Bukwaara, Rutooma, Kyakasekuro, and Kibuurwa East following concerns raised by Tugume Gilbert Muzaaveri, the NRM flag bearer for Mayor, Kitoba Town Council, over their poor condition. In response, Eng. Jonard donated UGX 3 million to cater for fuel costs to facilitate the immediate commencement of road works.
The funds were officially received by Tugume Gilbert Muzaaveri and the Hoima District Chairperson LC5, Mr. Mugisha Uthman, to ensure timely rehabilitation of the affected road network. Local leaders and residents welcomed the intervention, noting that improved roads will enhance transportation, service delivery, and economic activity across the area.
The contributions were made during the wedding ceremony of Mr. Junior Mwongere and Ms. Annet, held in Kitoba, where Eng. Jonard also extended support to the newlyweds and the wider community. He gifted Mr. Junior Mwongere a Bajaj motorcycle to strengthen his merchandise business and donated UGX 5 million to Madam Annet to boost her saloon enterprise. Additionally, he contributed UGX 5 million to the wedding organizing committee to help clear outstanding expenses, ensuring the couple begins married life without financial strain.

During the same function, Eng. Jonard further supported the maintenance of a 6-kilometre community road passing through five villages by donating fuel, following an appeal by an NRM local leader. The intervention will enable the road unit to carry out urgent maintenance as the district awaits the mobilization of official funds.
Addressing residents, Eng. Jonard emphasized that while the NRM government continues to invest in national road infrastructure, the spirit of burungi bwansi—community responsibility—remains critical for sustainable development.
He also called upon the people of Kitoba to remain united and peaceful during the political season, and urged communities to heed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s call to join the money economy by embracing production, value addition, and enterprise as key pathways to fighting poverty.
Eng. Jonard concluded by praying for blessings upon the newlywed couple, expressing confidence that they will prosper in marriage, business, and community life.
