The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Tuesday hosted a joint meeting with the Danish and Dutch envoys at the Special Forces Command (SFC) Headquarters, in what he described as a meaningful milestone in defence and diplomatic cooperation.
Gen. Kainerugaba met with Her Excellency Signe Winding Albjerg, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, and Her Excellency Frederieke Quispel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The CDF noted that hosting both diplomats in a single engagement was a rare yet significant moment that underlined the value of a shared, collaborative approach to global and regional challenges.

He commended the aligned foreign policy outlooks of Denmark and the Netherlands, saying their approaches promote respectful engagement, mutual trust, and locally-led partnerships that empower national institutions. “This meeting is a powerful symbol of solidarity,” Gen. Kainerugaba said, adding that sustainable progress is best achieved through shared responsibility and cooperation.
Both ambassadors thanked the CDF for the warm reception and lauded the strong and longstanding bilateral ties between their countries and Uganda. They reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration with the UPDF and other Ugandan institutions, especially in areas of security, capacity building, and development support.

The meeting marks another step in Uganda’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and enhance cooperation with countries that share common values and priorities.
