President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in his capacity as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), today concluded the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of NAM, held at the Munyonyo Resort Convention Center.
The two-day high-level gathering, convened under the theme “Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence,” brought together foreign ministers, diplomats, and representatives from member states to deliberate on key global challenges and strategies to strengthen solidarity among developing nations.
In his closing remarks, President Museveni commended the delegates for their commitment to the principles of the Movement, emphasizing the need for deeper South-South cooperation, equitable global development, and respect for national sovereignty.
“The Non-Aligned Movement remains a powerful platform for advancing fairness in international relations and ensuring that developing countries have a strong voice in shaping global agendas,” President Museveni stated.
The President further reiterated Uganda’s dedication to advancing NAM’s vision of peace, independence, and shared prosperity.
The 19th NAM Ministerial Meeting precedes upcoming technical sessions and the next Summit of Heads of State and Government expected to review progress made under Uganda’s current chairmanship.
